Bespoke systems
Built around the work, not the other way round.
When important work falls between existing tools, we can design proportionate software, automation and information foundations around the way it needs to operate.
How we workThe question beneath the work
What deserves to be connected, automated or built?
Bespoke does not mean customising everything. It means paying close attention to the part of the work that is distinctive or consequential, and using standard tools where they are sufficient.
We start with the workflow, its exceptions, the information it relies on and the people accountable for it. From there, we can decide whether to simplify a process, configure an existing product, connect systems or build a focused new capability.
Where attention goes
A response shaped
to the situation.
Map the real work
Trace the normal path, the exceptions and the approvals that protect quality and accountability.
Choose the smallest sound intervention
Compare integration, configuration, automation and custom software against the actual need.
Design for ownership
Make information sources, failure handling, access and maintenance part of the design from the start.
The shape of an engagement
Close attention.
Clear boundaries.
A system assessment, a bounded prototype or a defined implementation, depending on what is known and what needs testing.
Scope and handover are agreed around the operating reality, not a generic feature list. Ongoing operation or support is not assumed.

The first answer is
rarely the whole answer.
Imagine a team copying the same record between three tools. The answer might be one authoritative source and a small integration, rather than a replacement platform. The exception cases determine whether that simple answer is safe.
